Vancity Driving School Policies: What You Need to Know
Our Policies
We adhere to the highest standards of safety, training, and legal requirements. Vancity Driving
School is licensed and operates under Division 27 of the Motor Vehicle Act which is
easily accessible here. We provide class L7/N7 and 5 lessons.
Enrollment and Registration:
All applicants must meet the driving requirements set by the Insurance Corporation of British
Columbia (ICBC). This includes carrying a valid BC driver’s license during driving lessons.
Applicants can book driving lessons through website, email or phone. After hours, website,
email and text messages are preferred. The school administration will be happy to respond to your inquiries as soon as possible.
Payment Methods:
Acceptable methods include E-transfer, cash or cheque. All prices are subject to an additional
5% GST. Students can pay their fees at the time of booking, on the day of the lesson or prepaid packages.
Cancellation Policy:
Lesson Cancellation:
To avoid cancellation fees or losing your lesson, it’s generally required to
provide notice at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel a lesson within 48 hours of the
scheduled appointment, you’ll be charged a $35+5% GST cancellation fee. if you cancel the lesson within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, the lesson will be forfeited, and you won’t receive a refund.
Emergency cancelation:
If you need to cancel due to a medical emergency or other serious circumstances, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund or rescheduling, typically contingent on providing appropriate documentation.
Lesson Rescheduling:
Students may reschedule their lessons up to two times, provided they give at least 48 hours’ advance notice for each rescheduling.
Package Cancellation:
If you wish to cancel an entire package, the policy will depend on how much of the package has been used and how much notice you provide. There may be a cancellation fee, or you might receive a partial refund based on the remaining lessons.
Late-Show or No-Show Policy
Late-Show:
If the instructor arrives late, the lesson will either be extended or the lost time will be added to a subsequent lesson to ensure that students receive the full amount of instructional time originally scheduled. If the student arrives late, the lesson will end at the originally scheduled time, and any missed portion of the lesson will not be made up.
No-Show:
If a student fails to show up without giving prior notice, the lesson will be deemed forfeited, and no make-up session will be offered.
Lesson transferring:
Unused lessons may be transferred to another person with the consent of both the student and the school administration.
Lesson expiration:
Lessons will expire three months from the date of purchase, while prepaid packages will expire one year from the date of booking. Any unused lessons beyond these periods will be forfeited.
Refund:
Any refund requests made without rescheduling or transferring the lesson will be subject to a $35+ 5% GST administrative fee.
